School Site Manager
Our client, a local school, is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of a busy school site near Iver.
This is a varied and hands-on role that would suit someone with strong facilities, premises or site management experience who takes pride in maintaining safe, secure and well-presented environments.
Working closely with the school leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the premises while maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance.
The role is 37 hours per week. Driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of the school site and grounds.
- Ensure all buildings, facilities and outdoor areas are safe, clean, secure and well maintained.
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Monitor and manage health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Carry out regular site inspections, risk assessments and safety checks.
- Manage contractors and oversee works carried out on site.
- Line manage the Assistant Site Officer and coordinate with the cleaning contractor supervisor to maintain high standards across the site.
- Support the preparation and setup for school events, activities and lettings.
- Assist with site security, including opening and closing procedures where required.
- Drive and maintain the school minibus as required, subject to the appropriate licence and necessary checks.
- Maintain accurate records relating to maintenance, compliance and health and safety.
- Previous experience in a Site Manager, Facilities Manager, Caretaker, Premises Manager or similar role.
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and building compliance requirements.
- Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance schedules.
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Experience supervising staff or contractors.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible approach and willingness to support occasional out-of-hours activities and events.
