School Caretaker
School Caretaker / Stoke-on-Trent / ASAP / Fixed-Term Contract Are you a practical, reliable, and hands-on individual looking for your next opportunity within a school environment?
Academics are currently working with a secondary school in the Stoke-on-Trent area who are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join their Site and Facilities Team on a full-time temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with maintenance, caretaking, or handyman experience who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
The Role • General maintenance and repair tasks across the school site
- Basic plumbing, painting, and DIY work as required
- Setting up rooms and equipment for school events and activities
- Conducting routine site checks and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained
- Opening and securing school buildings as part of the shift rota
- Supporting the wider site team with facilities management duties
- 7:00am - 3:00pm
- 8:00am - 4:00pm
- 10:30am - 6:30pm
Requirements • Have previous caretaking, site management, facilities, maintenance, or handyman experience
- Ideally have previous experience working within a school environment
- Be confident carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks
- Be flexible and willing to work the rotating shift pattern
- Have a proactive and reliable approach to work
- Ideally already have an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service
- Weekly PAYE pay
