Sales Support Assistant

Permanent | Full Time | Hybrid Working

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales Support Assistant to join our client’s busy and friendly team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration and customer service experience who is confident working with SAGE and Microsoft Excel and has previous experience within the lighting industry.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting customers, processing sales orders and quotations, coordinating deliveries and returns, and providing day-to-day administrative support to the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

• Raise, input and process sales orders, quotations and proforma invoices using the SAGE system.


• Track active orders, provide shipping updates and resolve delivery or stock delays.


• Prepare and issue picking lists and despatch notes for the warehouse team.


• Carry out customer account reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.


• Investigate and resolve customer enquiries and problems in a professional and timely manner.


• Process customer returns, including issuing authorised return numbers, recording all relevant information, arranging product testing and processing credit notes or refunds where appropriate.


• Process and organise sample requests from customers and the internal sales team.


• Answer telephone and email enquiries from clients and contractors, providing accurate product information and pricing.


• Maintain accurate customer files and electronic records.


• Undertake general administrative duties, including filing, photocopying and other office support as required.


• Work closely with colleagues across the sales, customer service and warehouse teams to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and customer-focused, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Essential skills and experience:

• Previous experience within the lighting industry – essential.


• Strong working knowledge of SAGE – essential.


• Strong experience using Microsoft Excel.


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


• A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.


• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.


• Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.


• Good mathematical skills, with the ability to identify numerical errors and discrepancies.


• A positive, flexible approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.


• Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering hybrid working, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to work both remotely and as part of a collaborative office-based team.
