Position Summary
The Sales Specialist – Global Market Insights (MIDAS) is responsible for supporting the execution of IQVIA’s MIDAS commercial strategy, with a primary focus on revenue delivery, pipeline generation, client retention, upgrades, win‑back initiatives, and new logo acquisition.
Working under the supervision of the GMI Sales Lead, the role takes ownership of a significant share of day‑to‑day commercial execution, working closely with account teams, product specialists, and delivery teams to accelerate growth of MIDAS and related solutions (including MIDAS Disease \& Patient and RX OTC).
Key Responsibilities
Revenue \& Plan Delivery
- Contribute to the achievement of the annual MIDAS revenue plan, in line with assigned targets.
- Support continued growth of the MIDAS franchise, including:
+ MIDAS Disease \& Patient
+ RX OTC (e.g. supporting double‑digit growth objectives)
- Manage a defined set of accounts, opportunities, or segments as agreed with the Sales Lead.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and advance MIDAS opportunities across existing and prospective clients.
- Build and maintain a high‑quality sales pipeline with clear use cases, stakeholders, and close plans.
- Drive deal progression through disciplined execution and coordination of internal resources.
- Support commercial teams by translating strategy into clear, actionable execution plans.
- Actively drive MIDAS upgrades through systematic client engagement, including structured demonstrations and workshops.
- Leverage AI‑enabled tools (e.g. GMI AI Agent) to accelerate client engagement and value demonstration.
- Support win‑back initiatives by repositioning the MIDAS value proposition to former clients.
- Actively support the conversion of new strategic clients to MIDAS.
- Contribute to the acquisition of new MIDAS logos, in collaboration with account owners.
- Support commercial efforts across a variety of client segments (e.g. pharma, emerging biopharma, generics, APIs, finance, institutions).
- Support go‑to‑market initiatives aimed at expanding MIDAS into new client segments, use cases, or markets.
- Provide structured feedback from the field to Product, Marketing, and Offering teams.
- Contribute to the development and reuse of scalable sales materials, demos, and best practices.
- Support MIDAS renewals and key client retention efforts.
- Identify potential churn risks early and support mitigation plans.
- Coordinate with Client Services and Delivery teams to ensure continuity of value.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Scientific or life‑science background preferred (e.g. pharmacy, biology, chemistry, biomedical sciences).
- Minimum 5 years’ professional experience, ideally combining:
+ Consulting and / or
+ Commercial roles in life sciences, pharma, healthcare, or analytics.
- Experience in solution‑based or consultative selling environments.
- Exposure to market intelligence, data, analytics, or insights solutions strongly preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen and client‑facing skills.
- Ability to translate complex data and analytics into clear business value.
- Structured, execution‑oriented mindset with strong follow‑through.
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
- High level of autonomy, rigor, and accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have 5–10 years of experience in sales, consulting, or commercial roles within life sciences or healthcare.
- Have prior exposure to pharma commercial decision‑making (strategy, market sizing, portfolio, launch, competitive intelligence).
- Be comfortable working with senior client stakeholders.
- Bring a scientific background (e.g. pharmacist, life‑science degree), which is considered a strong asset but not mandatory.
- Be motivated by execution, ownership, and results rather than purely relationship management.
- Contribution to MIDAS revenue and growth objectives.
- Quality and velocity of pipeline generation and deal execution.
- Successful delivery of upgrades, renewals, win‑backs, and new logo acquisitions.
- Effective reduction of execution load on the GMI Sales Lead.
- Positive feedback from account teams and internal stakeholders.
