An excellent opportunity has arisen for a hands\-on Sales Office Manager to join a well\-established UK\-based specialist in high\-reliability, complex, electronic manufacturing.

This pivotal role involves leading and developing the customer\-facing sales operation, ensuring outstanding customer service, efficient processes, and seamless collaboration with the operational team.

This position is ideal for a motivated and organised leader with a strong background in internal sales or customer service management, who thrives on coaching teams, streamlining operations, and building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

DJ Assembly Ltd is seeking a Sales Office Manager to handle its sustained growth. We recently completed a company\-wide relocation, where our 25,000 sq/ft facility allows both Factory and HQ to operate under one roof. Its open\-plan workspace has significantly enhanced collaboration and communication across all departments.

This position is site based.

Main Responsibilities of the Sales Office Manager:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the internal sales team, fostering a collaborative and high\-performance culture.

  • Set objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular coaching, feedback, and training.

  • Oversee daily customer enquiries, quotations, and order processing to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.

  • Work closely with the sales office team to deliver seamless customer support and develop key accounts.

  • Maintain accurate customer, pricing and sales information within company systems.

  • ERP development of CRM \& Sales modules

  • Contribute to departmental AI process development

  • Attend occasional customer visits and trade shows throughout the UK.

  • Support complex orders, liaising with internal departments to resolve challenges and meet customer requirements.

  • Contribute to sales strategy in collaboration with Commercial Director

  • Report on sales performance, budgets, pipeline activity, KPIs and overall performance to senior management.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to support sales initiatives and overcome supply chain challenges in collaboration with the Purchasing team.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to help shape business development.

  • Partner with the management team to support the introduction of new ideas and process improvements. Build positive working relationships, encourage engagement with change initiatives, and help ensure an excellent customer experience.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing and developing an internal sales or customer service team.

  • Strong B2B sales or account management background.

  • Excellent organisational skills to oversee busy office operations.

  • Skilled communicator and motivator with a collaborative leadership style.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.

  • Willingness to be based on site in York every day.

  • Full clean UK driving licence.

  • Experience in electronics, engineering, or other technical product sales is advantageous.
Desirable Experience:
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defence, or other quality\-critical sectors.

  • Experience working to ISO quality standards

  • Ability to identify and streamline sales processes to improve efficiency.

  • Experience working within a manufacturing business, with an understanding of operational workflows and production processes.
