Sales & New Business Development Work Placement

If so, look no further! To support our rapid growth, Altura Group is looking for a highly motivated, self\-starting and outgoing graduate individual to support our Sales and New Business Development. You will gain experience of sales and business development from day one, and learn from our highly talented team of Sales Professionals, with an opportunity to secure a full\-time role in our Retail team upon successful completion of your work placement.
This is a fixed six\-month non paid work placement with travel and food expenses included, with a full time salaried position to follow upon successful completion.

The Role:
This Sales \& New Business Development Work Placement is an exciting opportunity to gain hands\-on sales and business development experience across a wide variety channels and sectors. You will play a key role in supporting day\-to\-day activities, learning key sales skills, and gaining valuable insights into our clients and how sales and new business development pipelines work in the context of FMCG.
This role is ideal for someone eager to learn about sales craft and new business development, enjoys winning and success, is a passionate and motivated communicator and is invested in learning about all aspects of sales and the building of relationships.
Key Ares:
- Daily Operations: learning about sales pipelines and the management \& conversion leads, and the supporting administration and communications.
- New Business Development: understanding the sales craft needed to win new business customers \- from outreach to pitches to closing \- and all aspects in between.
- Customer Support: training in how to respond to customer inquiries efficiently \& effectively.
- Processes: assist in developing, documenting, and improving internal processes with our task management and CRM systems.
- AI: with the support of Senior Managers, explore opportunities and efficiency gains using AI tools.
- Team Collaboration: work cross\-functionally with internal sales, product and marketing teams to deliver on business development needs.
- Tracking: tracking and monitoring progress and success.
- Experience: currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in ideally Business, Management, Operations or Marketing, or any other related field
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Outgoing, self\-motivated and self\-starting
- Ability to work independently whilst also being a strong team player
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (experience with CRM or project/ task management tools is a plus)
- Practical, hands\-on experience and training in sales and business development
- Exposure to cross\-functional teamwork in a fast\-paced, collaborative agency
- Experience with CRM tools, project management systems, and reporting dashboards
- Mentorship and guidance from experienced sales professionals to build both technical and soft skills
- A deeper understanding of new customer pipeline management
- Expenses Allowance of up to £70 per week (upon production of valid receipts)
