A newly created senior position reporting to the MD, the Sales Manager will be tasked with the delivery of an agreed sales strategy for the company. They will be expected, in conjunction with other senior members of the company, to contribute to the development of this strategy.
The successful candidate will be required to drive sustainable growth in both revenue and margin and work to ensure that the existing ethos of providing Exceptional Customer Service remains front and centre of our approach.
As part of the Business Development Team, the Sales Manager will ensure that its energy is directed towards sales growth. The role will also have full management responsibility for all existing Sales Representatives within the Company.
The role will require strategic thinking, a deep understanding of who Pat McDonnell Paint Sales is and will need to work closely with our branch network and support functions to achieve goals.

The role is intended to bring closer collaboration between the various functions, and the Sales Manager will be required to have the skillset to build relationships across all of these.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Strategy
Ensure that the agreed sales strategy is communicated clearly throughout the business and is understood at every level. Identify market opportunities that we currently do not have direct access to and work these also.
Market Intelligence
Maintain a clear and current picture of the competitive landscape, market trends and customer behaviour. Use this intelligence to make evidence\-based decisions and recommendations.
Brands \& Products
Take an active lead in shaping the product and brand priorities of the sales function, working in close partnership with the Business Development Team.
Branch Interactions

Management of Sales Reps
Take full management responsibility for all Sales Representatives, ensuring they are well directed, well supported, and consistently delivering against targets.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will combine commercial acumen with genuine people leadership — someone who can think strategically but also roll up their sleeves and work closely with branch teams and Sales Reps to make things happen.
