Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, credible individual with excellent knowledge of how the courier and logistics sector operates, to join our team as Sales Manager for a period of 6 months. The successful candidate will directly be responsible for creating and delivering a strategic Sales Project Plan which in turn will deliver growth in Q3/Q4\. The role requires a charismatic individual, with proven sales experience, who is capable of driving new sales, contacts and accounts which will impact the future of the business.

The role is Monday – Friday, all 5 days onsite, 45 hours per week. However, due to the nature of the role, start and finish times may vary. We would be open to discuss flexible working arrangements.

The salary is dependent on experience and will be discussed at interview stage.

Sales Project Plan Responsibilities

  • Sales Department: Plan, propose and then deliver the set up of the Sales Department.

  • Pipeline Management: Audit, build, and accelerate the B2B sales pipeline from lead generation to close.

  • Team Leadership: Coach, motivate, and direct an existing member of our team to become a successful Sales Rep to achieve targeted revenue goals. This person should be fully trained and equip with all knowledge to run the Sales Department once the FTC has ended.

  • Client Acquisition: Identify and negotiate high\-value corporate contracts within the logistics, freight, or supply chain sectors.

  • Conduct Market Analysis: To identify trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth.

  • Manage Key Client Accounts: Fostering long\-term relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

  • Strategy \& Reporting: Define clear KPIs \- new client acquisitions, conversion rates \- and report directly to senior leadership.
Essential experience, skills \& qualifications:
  • 2 years experience within a similar role (B2B Sales Manager/senior position within B2B sales).

  • 2 years experience within a courier/logistics business.

  • Proven experience of bringing new business (evidence will need to be provided at interview).

  • Experience of training colleagues in sales.

  • Experience of the financial aspect of a business relating to sales (cost and profit margins).

  • Experience in using a CRM system to track customers and sales progress.

  • Experience in freight forwarding.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and team members.

  • The personality that allows you to try and fail but learn from your mistakes.

  • A “thick skin” that enables you to deal with confrontation, receive feedback, and deal with difficult situations in a business\-like manner without taking it personally.

  • Flexibility in hours to get the job done.

  • Full clean Driving Licence.
Desirable experience, skills \& qualifications:
  • Qualification within Sales or Marketing.

  • Qualification within Business Management.
