SALES COORDINATOR – MANUFACTURING
Are you an experienced Sales Coordinator from a manufacturing background?
Our client, a well-established market leader within their industry, is continuing to expand and is looking for an experienced Sales Coordinator to join their busy Birmingham operation.
This is not simply a general administration role. We are looking for someone who understands the demands of working within a manufacturing or production environment, where you will be coordinating customer orders from initial quotation through to production, despatch and delivery.
You will be the important link between customers, sales, production, the factory and despatch, making sure orders are processed accurately, manufactured to the correct requirements and delivered on time.
YOU MUST HAVE:
Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
Experience of SAP ideally
Good Excel skills – intermediate level
Experience of sales order processing
Confidence working with measurements, dimensions, weights and sizes
Experience liaising directly with production/factory teams
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines
YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
You will take responsibility for a varied workload including:
Preparing and issuing formal quotations to customers
Inputting and processing sales orders accurately onto the system
Managing customer schedules and calling off orders as required
Liaising with the factory and production teams to ensure orders have been manufactured correctly and on time
Monitoring orders throughout the production process
Communicating with customers regarding orders, lead times, deliveries and any changes
Administering customer cross-references and pricing information
Providing solutions to customer queries and resolving problems quickly
Liaising with Production and Despatch regarding order or delivery issues
Producing UK despatch notes and invoices
Providing customers with copies of invoices, despatch notes and tracking information
Checking weights, dimensions and sizes for despatch
Selecting appropriate carriers based on consignment requirements
Preparing consignment documentation
Processing credit notes in conjunction with Accounts
Assisting with telephone/reception cover when required
EXPORT & CUSTOMS
You will also be involved in the administration of overseas orders, including:
Preparing export despatch notes and invoices
Producing and checking export documentation
Understanding different country despatch requirements
Ensuring invoices and supporting paperwork meet export requirements
Dealing with customs documentation, including CMRs
Liaising with customers, carriers and internal departments to ensure goods are despatched correctly
THE PERSON
We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and commercially aware, but most importantly understands manufacturing.
You will be comfortable speaking to the factory about an order, checking measurements and specifications, chasing production, dealing with a customer query and ensuring the correct documentation is ready for despatch.
You will need to be able to work at pace, prioritise your workload and take ownership of orders rather than simply passing queries on to somebody else.
If you have a manufacturing background, SAP experience, good Excel skills and strong sales order processing experience, we would love to hear from you.
