Sales Controller
<h2>In a nutshell </h2>
<p>We’re looking for a <strong>Sales Controller</strong> who combines strong analytical skills with a proactive, business-oriented mindset. You’re passionate about turning numbers into insights that drive commercial performance - not just reporting on what happened, but understanding <em>why</em> and <em>what to do next</em>. You bring structure to complex data, challenge the status quo, and help build scalable, future-proof sales controlling processes. As part of the<strong> Commercial team</strong>, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and performance of our commercial activities in the <strong>Dutch market</strong>. Acting as the link between Buying, Finance and Data teams, you’ll safeguard margin accuracy and be the driving factor for further process improvements and automation. You will be<strong> reporting to the Commercial Analytics Lead</strong> and be a key sparring partner to our commercial teams, helping them make smarter and data-driven financial decisions.</p>
<h2>Tricks of the trade</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Sales & margin controlling:</strong> Monitor purchase prices, margins and quantities of the entire assortment to safeguard financial integrity</li>
<li><strong>Commercial insights:</strong> Analyze financial KPIs and category performance, identify opportunities, spot weak performance and drive financial planning. </li>
<li><strong>Deal reporting:</strong> Ensure all supplier deals are correctly documented, communicated, and reflected in reporting</li>
<li><strong>Invoice, discount & counterpart management:</strong> Oversee off-invoice discounts, counterpart agreements and receivables to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely follow-up</li>
<li><strong>Tax & regulatory compliance:</strong> Ensure consumer taxes are correctly configured and support year-end settlements</li>
</ul>
<h2>Your superpowers</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>BSc degree</strong> in Finance, Business Economics, or a related field</li>
<li><strong>1-2 years </strong>of experience in a controlling, FP&A, or commercial finance role</li>
<li><strong>Strong understanding of sales</strong>, pricing, and margin analysis</li>
<li><strong>Excellent analytical and problem solving skills</strong> - comfortable with large data sets</li>
<li><strong>Strong attention to detail </strong>with a structured approach and accurate execution</li>
<li><strong>Advanced proficiency in Excel</strong> (or Google Sheets); experience with data tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or SQL) is a plus</li>
<li><strong>Excellent communication skills</strong> - able to translate complex financial insights into actionable business advice and convince your stakeholders</li>
<li><strong>Fluent in English</strong> (Dutch, German, or French is a plus)</li>
<li><strong>Experience with ERP or accounting systems</strong> (Workday, SAP, or similar) is advantageous</li>
