The Thomas Group Ltd / Tierra Mia are specialist suppliers of premium natural stone, quartz composite and porcelain surfaces, servicing the design, construction and furniture industries across the UK. Working alongside architects, interior designers, kitchen studios, developers and private clients, we deliver bespoke projects ranging from luxury residential interiors through to specialist commercial work.
We are currently looking to recruit a Sales \& Design Consultant on an 8\-month maternity cover contract, with the potential for a longer\-term or permanent position for the right candidate as the business continues to grow.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate and design\-led business, working from our state\-of\-the\-art Manchester showroom alongside a close\-knit and experienced team.
The successful candidate will manage both existing client relationships and their own incoming projects, while helping to develop new business opportunities across our expanding customer base.
You will work closely with the directors and wider team across sales, manufacturing, purchasing and installations to help deliver exceptional customer experiences and successful projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer projects from initial enquiry through to completion.
- Conduct showroom consultations and help clients select suitable materials and finishes.
- Produce and present design concepts using software such as SketchUp and AutoCAD.
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, designers, developers and trade clients.
- Manage and develop existing accounts while identifying new sales opportunities.
- Host client meetings and showroom presentations.
- Work collaboratively with production, templating and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Assist with ongoing sales and marketing initiatives.
- Deliver individual sales targets and contribute to overall team performance.
- Interpret technical drawing packages and assist with project estimating and quotation preparation.
- Experience in a similar sales, showroom or design\-based role within interiors, kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, stone, tiles or related industries.
- Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
- Confident using design and drawing software including SketchUp and/or AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret designer drawing packages supplied in DXF/DWG formats.
- Strong understanding of scaled technical drawings and the ability to accurately take dimensions and quantities from drawings for quotation purposes.
- Good numeric and measurement skills with strong attention to detail.
- Professional, organised and commercially minded.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Positive, proactive and team\-oriented approach.
