Sales Account Manager
The Builders Supply Bothwell is seeking an ambitious, customer\-focused Sales Account Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for developing and managing relationships with existing and prospective customers, driving sales growth, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding our customer base, increasing revenue, and promoting the full range of building materials and services offered by The Builders Supply Bothwell. This position requires a proactive and commercially minded individual with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the construction, building materials, or builders merchant sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop existing customer accounts.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with trade and commercial customers.
- Prepare quotations and follow up sales enquiries.
- Promote the company's products and services.
- Achieve agreed sales and margin targets.
- Work closely with branch colleagues to deliver excellent customer service.
- Resolve customer queries and issues efficiently.
- Maintain awareness of market trends and competitor activity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Essential
- Proven experience in sales, account management, business development, or customer relationship management.
- Strong commercial awareness and a results\-driven approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain productive customer relationships.
- Strong organisational and time\-management skills.
- Self\-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous experience within a builders merchant, construction, timber, landscaping, civils, or building materials environment.
- Knowledge and experience of Kerridge merchant software would be a distinct advantage.
- Established network of contacts within the local construction and trade sectors.
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales management tools.
