As a Rotational Moulding Operator, you will be responsible for operating rotational moulding
machines to produce high-quality plastic products. Your role involves loading moulds with raw
materials, setting up and monitoring the moulding process, and ensuring that finished products meet
quality standards. Attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work
effectively in a team are essential for success in this position.
What you'll do
- Machine Setup and Preparation:
Load raw materials, such as plastic resins and additives, into the moulds.
Set up machine parameters, including temperature, rotation speed, and cycle time, based on production requirements.
- Machine Operation:
Monitor machine operation to ensure that the moulding process runs smoothly and efficiently.
Adjust machine settings as necessary to optimise production and maintain product quality.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Quality Control:
Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent defects from recurring.
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on rotational moulding machines, such as lubrication and calibration.
Replace worn-out or damaged machine parts as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
- Safety Compliance:
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, while operating machinery.
Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor or safety officer.
- Documentation and Reporting:
Complete production reports and logs as required by management.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of issues.
What you'll need
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or experience in machine operation or plastics manufacturing is desirable.
- Previous experience operating rotational moulding machines or similar equipment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Working Conditions: The role primarily operates in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and various chemicals. Training and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided, and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory. The position may require occasional overtime and weekend work to meet production deadlines.
