Road Engineer – Plant & Machinery

Digges Bury Limited are currently looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Road Engineer to join our growing team based in Bury.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, inspection, and repair of a range of plant and machinery, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and fully operational.

This is a mobile role involving travel to customer sites and depots when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on plant and machinery


• Service and maintain a range of equipment including excavators, dumpers, rollers, and associated machinery


• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance


• Respond to breakdowns efficiently and professionally


• Ensure all work is completed to health and safety standards


• Accurately complete service reports and paperwork


• Liaise with customers and internal teams professionally

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Plant Engineer, Road Engineer, or similar role


• Good knowledge of plant and machinery maintenance and repair


• Strong fault\-finding and diagnostic skills


• Full UK driving licence


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Good communication and organisational skills

Desirable

• Relevant engineering qualifications


• Hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical experience


• CSCS or relevant plant certifications
