About the Role
We’re looking for a Risk \& Opportunity Manager (R/O) to join our PMO team at our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4\-day working week Monday \- Thursday and hybrid working. Onsite working days are Monday and Tuesday, with Wednesday and Thursday typically worked from home subject to business needs.
As a Risk \& Opportunity Manager you'll have responsibility for providing successful delivery of risk \& opportunity management for nominated Programmes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:* Acting as a first point of contact \& R/O SME for the nominated programmes and Functions they support. Programmes may be across multiple Business Areas
- Facilitating identification of Programme \& Functional R/O through risk workshops, brainstorming, assumptions analysis
- Undertaking Qualitative \& Quantitative assessment of the identified R/O's to enable R/O prioritisation through engagement with PM's Tech Leads, Functional Manager's etc.
- Recording R/O into the Risk Management database (currently ARM)
- Engaging with PM's, Technical Leads, Functional heads to identify and record R/O mitigation / exploitation strategies
- Engaging with Programme Planners, PMO, Finance and Supply Chain representatives to ensure that approved R/O mitigation are recorded in the schedule and funded.
- Facilitating Risk \& Opportunity Management boards without supervision
- Performing cost risk analysis to support risk informed financial decision making
- Running schedule risk analysis in partnership with Programme Planners and Controllers to determine the likelihood of finishing Programme scope on time and on budget to assist PM's in understanding the extent of their risk exposure
- Generating comprehensive internal and external risk reports that enhance proactive risk management, drive risk\-aware decision making, building trust and confidence of various stakeholders, and continuous Programme and Functional improvement
- Representing ROM team in Functional Improvement activities under the direction of the Lead R/O manager
- Providing ad\-hoc end user training on how to review and update risks in the ARM tool
- Running risk management of small bids (under supervision)
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- Demnstrable experience in a PMO role such as Project Planner, Project Controller, Project Co\-ordinator, PMO Analyst, PMO Administrator, Risk Manager, Risk Analyst Risk Officer or related role
- Experience in the development and maintenance of Programme risk registers
- Strong numerical skills and the ability to evaluate costs related to programme delivery and be able to understand and work with a technical and skill\-diverse team.
- A fast learner with good analytical skills who can demonstrate problem solving \& decision\-making capabilities
- Enthusiastic, pro\-active self\-motivated and committed to personal professional development within the risk \& opportunity management field of Programme management
- Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having the ability to communicate effectively, both formally and informally, with a wide range of people including internal senior management and project team members, subcontractors, and suppliers through to high level customer representatives.
- The applicant must have good communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders
- Ability to quickly pick up new toolsets and processes
- Ability to work in a team environment and also independently
- Working knowledge of and experience in Active Risk Manager and ARM Risk Express
- Have obtained or working towards an industry recognised qualification in risk management
