RF/mmW Device Engineer (m/f/d)

Join Apple's mmWave and cellular wireless design team \- responsible for all aspects of mmWave and cellular silicon development, with a particular emphasis on highly integrated and power\-efficient designs and technologies that directly shape the user experience.

As an RF/mmW Device Engineer, you will join a team designing and productizing state\-of\-the\-art wireless communication devices. You will evaluate the model quality of mmWave active and passive devices, owning the complete workflow: design of experiment, physical design, on\-wafer measurements, and simulation. You will also perform simulation\- and measurement\-based benchmarks across different technology nodes to identify the optimal platform for high\-frequency communication circuits.","responsibilities":"Design, simulate, and characterize active and passive devices and demonstrator circuits at mmWave frequencies.

Extract figures of merit and benchmark device and circuit performance at mmWave frequencies.

Perform sensitivity analyses on mmWave circuits by tuning model parameters.

Research and develop advanced calibration and measurement techniques.

Evaluate and specify test instruments; develop and calibrate test fixtures and setups.

Automate repetitive measurements using standard scripting languages.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with electronic device simulations at high frequencies and extraction of mmWave figures of merit.

Strong RF background and familiarity with RF circuit fundamentals.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

A B.S. in Physics or Electrical Engineering is required; an M.S. or Ph.D. in Semiconductor Physics or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Solid foundation in semiconductor physics.

Hands\-on experience with RF test equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, vector signal generator, vector signal analyzer, etc.).

Experience with wafer probe stations and on\-wafer mmWave characterization techniques such as scattering parameters, source\-load pull, and thermal noise.

Proficiency with measurement automation tools and scripting languages, such as Python and MATLAB.
