About this role

This is an excellent opportunity to join our Reward team as a Reward Consultant, providing maternity cover within the wider Talent team in People Services.

You will play a key role in delivering our Reward strategy by supporting the development and implementation of reward and benefit schemes that help attract, retain and motivate our employees. You will also lead on the operational aspects of the University’s job design and evaluation activity, helping to ensure roles are designed and assessed fairly and consistently.

Reporting to the Reward Manager, you will work closely with colleagues across People Services and with project teams across the University on a range of reward, benefits and job evaluation activities.

About you

  • You will need to demonstrate experience and knowledge in reward systems, policies and practices.

  • In particular, you will need to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainty and prioritise effectively within what can at times be a rapidly changing environment

  • You will have strong analytical and problem\-solving skills, capable of analysing and interpreting data to inform decisions or provide solutions.

  • You don’t need to have experience of job design and job evaluation but we would expect you to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of principles

  • Project management experience would be an advantage as well as experience of using data and benchmarking survey platforms.

  • You will be organised, collaborative and able to manage competing priorities, while supporting an inclusive culture where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Where you will be working

UWE Bristol is a campus\-based University, with vibrant campus communities that are central to student life.

In this role, you’ll be based at our modern Frenchay Campus where we’ve invested in state\-of\-the\-art facilities designed to help both staff and students succeed.

You’ll spend most of your time on campus, typically 2 \- 3 days per week with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days

This is a part\-time fixed\-term maternity cover post until the return of the postholder, working 30 hours per week.

Salary offers are made in line with the University’s salary assessment guidelines, reflecting your relevant skills and experience in parity with colleagues.
