The Role
Shelbourne Football Club is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Revenue \& Partnerships Manager to lead the next phase of growth across the club's commercial activities.
This is a hands\-on role with clear responsibility for growing commercial revenue, developing new business and maximising the value of Shelbourne's existing partnerships.
The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong sales and relationship management skills. They will be expected to identify opportunities, develop commercial propositions, build a strong pipeline of prospective partners and convert opportunities into sustainable revenue for the club.
The role will work across the club's men's and women's teams, academy, community activities, Tolka Park, matchdays, hospitality and events.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth \& New Business
- Develop and deliver an annual commercial revenue plan in conjunction with the CEO.
- Take responsibility for achieving agreed commercial revenue targets.
- Identify and develop new sources of revenue across the club.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective commercial partners.
- Proactively identify, approach and develop relationships with potential partners across Dublin, Ireland and relevant international markets.
- Develop compelling sponsorship and commercial propositions tailored to prospective partners.
- Lead commercial pitches, negotiations and the conversion of new business.
- Explore opportunities beyond traditional sponsorship, including hospitality, events, advertising, digital, content and Tolka Park\-related opportunities.
- Work with the wider club to develop commercially viable opportunities around men's and women's football, academy and community activity.
- Take senior responsibility for Shelbourne's key commercial partnerships.
- Build strong, long\-term relationships with existing sponsors and partners.
- Lead partnership renewal discussions and identify opportunities to increase partner investment.
- Develop clear activation plans that deliver value for both the partner and Shelbourne.
- Ensure contractual commitments and partner benefits are delivered to a high standard.
- Conduct regular partner reviews and proactively address any issues or opportunities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of each partner's objectives and identify opportunities to develop relationships further.
- Work closely with the relevant club teams to grow hospitality and corporate opportunities around Shelbourne matches.
- Develop new corporate and hospitality products and packages.
- Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue from Tolka Park outside of normal matchday activity.
- Support the development and commercialisation of non\-football events at Tolka Park.
- Build relationships with corporate clients and event partners.
- Work with the CEO and senior management team to develop and deliver Shelbourne's commercial strategy.
- Continually assess the club's existing commercial assets and identify opportunities to increase their value.
- Develop new commercial products and propositions.
- Bring new ideas and opportunities to the club and challenge existing approaches where appropriate.
- Ensure Shelbourne's commercial proposition remains relevant and competitive within the Irish sports and business market.
- Maintain an accurate commercial sales pipeline and revenue forecast.
- Provide regular reporting to the CEO on commercial performance, new business, pipeline development and partnership renewals.
- Track performance against agreed commercial targets and budgets.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting of commercial income.
- Maintain an organised and professional approach to commercial contracts, prospects, renewals and partner relationships.
We are looking for an individual who combines commercial ambition, strong relationship\-building skills and a genuine ability to deliver revenue.
Essential
- Proven experience in commercial sales, business development, sponsorship, partnerships or a related field.
- A demonstrable track record of winning new business and generating revenue.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
- Experience managing relationships with senior business decision\-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of revenue, margins and return on investment.
- Highly organised, proactive and accountable.
- Ability to develop and manage a sales pipeline from prospect through to completion.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a wider organisation.
- A strong understanding of the importance of relationships in developing long\-term commercial partnerships.
- Experience in sport, entertainment, media, events or a related sector.
- Existing relationships within the Irish business community.
- Experience in sports sponsorship and partnership development.
- Experience in hospitality, events or venue\-based commercial activity.
- Experience using CRM and sales pipeline management systems.
