Retail Customer Service Assistant
White Peak Distillery is an independent, family run, full\-scale craft distillery based in the Derwent Valley in Derbyshire, in a former Victorian\-era wire works (dates back to 1876\). Our home sits on the banks of the River Derwent and backs straight into the ancient woodland of Shining Cliff. Founded in 2016 by local husband and wife team Max \& Claire Vaughan, the distillery has won multiple awards for its spirits and visitor experiences, and our whiskies are now distributed throughout the UK and in various export markets, including Japan, Taiwan and Singapore.
Our range of award\-winning spirits is centred around Wire Works Whisky, the region’s first ever single malt whisky, supported by Derbyshire dry gins and rum, all crafted on site by our passionate team. Our brand home is not only the focal point for all the spirits we make but is also our largest retail sales channel, through ‘cellar door’ sales, visitor tours and experiences and UK\-wide online sales.
The distillery shop and visitor spaces are key to the success of the business and you will be integral to the continuing the excellent reputation we’ve built in customer services and direct\-to\-consumer sales of both products and experiences. You will be given responsibility for running the distillery shop, managing incoming calls and greeting visitors to the distillery for tours and experiences. This is a front of house role and you’ll be involved in day\-to\-day customer relations (in\-person, phone and email).
The role is part\-time, 2 days per week, normally Fridays \& Saturdays (including the occasional evening event). The shop is open from 10:00 – 18:00 and your hours will normally tie in with these times. When the shop is not busy you will be expected to manage and respond to inbound emails (questions around tour bookings, etc) and also help with despatch of online orders.
We don’t expect everyone to be spirits experts when they join us but excellence in customer service is a must \- a reputation we have built\-up over many years. Our 5\-star Tripadvisor reviews rank our visitor tours as the \#1 Thing To Do in Derbyshire. We will provide support and training to enable you to perform your job to the best of your abilities.
