Restaurant Manager – The Leytonstone Tavern

The Leytonstone Tavern is an award\-winning neighbourhood dining pub in East London, known for our welcoming atmosphere, incredible burgers and tacos, legendary Sunday roasts, and commitment to supporting local breweries, independent producers and regenerative agriculture.
We’re looking for an experienced and ambitious Restaurant Manager to lead our front\-of\-house operation and help drive the continued success of one of East London’s most exciting independent hospitality businesses.
Working closely with our founders and senior management team, you’ll oversee day\-to\-day restaurant operations, inspire the team, maintain exceptional service standards and ensure guests receive an outstanding experience every time they visit.
This role is ideal for someone who loves fast\-paced service, team development, food and drink culture, and creating an atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.

At The Leytonstone Tavern, hospitality comes first. Alongside our busy restaurant and bar, we host weddings, celebrations, tequila tastings, beer festivals, BBQs and bespoke events, while our award\-winning food trucks appear at festivals and events throughout the summer.

As Restaurant Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day\-to\-day running of our restaurant floor, ensuring smooth operations, outstanding hospitality and strong team performance.
You’ll lead from the front during service, drive standards, support team development and help create a culture centred around great food, excellent drinks and unforgettable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily restaurant operations and ensuring smooth service delivery
- Leading and motivating the front\-of\-house team to deliver exceptional hospitality
- Driving service standards and maintaining an outstanding guest experience
- Managing busy services while maintaining calm, organised leadership
- Training, developing and supporting team members
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new staff
- Managing rotas, labour costs and staffing levels
- Assisting with stock management, ordering and cost control
- Maintaining cleanliness, health \& safety and compliance standards
- Managing customer feedback and resolving issues professionally
- Supporting event delivery including private hires, weddings and bespoke celebrations
- Working closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure seamless operations
We’re looking for someone with strong leadership experience and a genuine passion for hospitality, who enjoys building teams and delivering memorable experiences.
You’ll ideally have:
✔ Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager or Senior Supervisor within a busy hospitality environment
✔ Minimum 2\+ years management experience
✔ Experience leading large teams and managing high\-volume services
✔ Strong understanding of stock control, labour management and operational procedures
✔ Excellent hosting and guest experience skills
✔ Good knowledge of wine, craft beer, cocktails and coffee
✔ Confidence handling customer feedback and service recovery
✔ A positive attitude and ability to motivate teams
✔ Passion for food, drinks and independent hospitality
