Restaurant Supervisor/Duty Manager

Job Summary

The Trooper is looking for an experienced, hands\-on Restaurant Supervisor to help lead our front\-of\-house team and deliver consistently excellent service.

You will take responsibility for running restaurant shifts, supporting and directing the team, maintaining high service standards and ensuring every guest receives a warm and professional experience. This is an active, customer\-facing role that includes taking orders and serving food and drinks alongside the team.

Previous supervisory experience in a busy restaurant or food\-led pub is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the front\-of\-house team during restaurant service.


• Allocate sections and tasks, brief the team and maintain service standards.


• Welcome guests and ensure they receive attentive, friendly service.


• Take accurate food and drink orders and serve guests when required.


• Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure an efficient flow of service.


• Monitor tables and respond promptly to guest requests.


• Deal professionally with complaints and resolve issues wherever possible.


• Ensure the team understands the menu, allergens and current promotions.


• Encourage appropriate upselling and help maximise sales.


• Support the training and development of front\-of\-house staff.


• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation.


• Ensure food\-safety, licensing and company procedures are followed.


• Assist with opening, closing and other shift\-management duties.

Experience and Skills

• Previous restaurant or food\-led pub supervisory experience is essential.


• Confident leading and motivating a team during busy services.


• Excellent customer\-service and communication skills.


• Strong organisational and time\-management skills.


• Good knowledge of food safety and allergen procedures.


• Calm, dependable and professional when under pressure.


• Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
