Restaurant Shift Manager (m/w/d)

We’re looking for a shift manager/ leader, at our busy cafe, brunch restaurant, deli and catering business, rocket \+ basil, located in the heart of Berlin's vibrant Tiergarten / Mitte area.

We serve breakfast, lunch and brunch with strong Persian/ middle eastern influences. Our food is fresh, vibrant, colourful and always delicious. We care deeply about what we do and constantly strive to be the best we can be. We believe in harmony and synergy when it comes to service, and are all about a good flow where everyone helps one another to provide the best possible experience for our guests.

The job would be full time, 3\-4 days per week, depending on what the applicant prefers.

Some of your responsibilities would include:

• Ensuring that service runs smoothly and overseeing opening and closing of the cafe.


• Closely working with our barista, the kitchen and the rest of the service team to ensure a good flow.


• Inventory and stock management and weekly orders.


• Managing phone inquiries and customer queries.


• Managing online orders and coordinating catering deliveries.


• Working with the kitchen team to update menus.

The ideal candidate would:

• Be able to cope with stressful situations and busy and bustling environments.


• Be able to confidently lead a team.


• See the details and go above and beyond just ‘doing the job’.


• Easily build a rapport with our customers and successfully navigate difficult situations and de\-escalate customer complaints.


• Be fluent in English and have a strong handle on German (B1\-B2 and above).


• Be a team player who is able to take initiative and contribute to our ever evolving business.


• Have at least 2 years experience in front\-of\-house at a similar style establishment, and have held similar positions previously.


• Be someone who is happy to take the lead and knows how and when to delegate.


• Be a natural problem solver who is solutions\-oriented and able to see the bigger picture when things get stressful.


• Have a driver's license and is not shy about using it, PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.
