Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Restaurant \& Venue Manager to lead the operations of a large, high\-end hospitality venue with a strong dual focus on premium restaurant service and high\-volume private hire events. This is a senior operational role requiring a balance of exceptional hospitality standards and strong events delivery capability. The venue operates as a full\-service restaurant, while also functioning as a significant private hire and events space hosting a wide range of functions, from corporate events to large\-scale celebrations. The successful candidate will ensure seamless day\-to\-day operations, flawless event execution and consistently high service standards across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Venue \& Restaurant Operations

  • Oversee the daily running of both restaurant service and private event operations within a high\-volume, premium environment

  • Maintain exceptional standards of service, presentation and operational discipline across all areas of the venue

  • Ensure full readiness of the venue for both restaurant service and large\-scale event transitions

  • Manage reservations, floor plans and capacity planning to maximise commercial performance
Events \& Private Hire (Core Function)
  • Lead the full lifecycle of private hire events including enquiry, planning, coordination, delivery and post\-event follow\-up

  • Act as the primary client contact for all event bookings, ensuring a professional and seamless client experience

  • Translate complex event requirements into well\-executed operational plans across staffing, service and logistics

  • Oversee the delivery of high\-capacity events, ensuring precision, timing and service consistency

  • Drive revenue growth through effective event execution and strong client relationships, encouraging repeat and referral business
Team Leadership
  • Lead, manage and develop a large front\-of\-house and events team

  • Deliver clear and structured briefings for both daily service and event\-specific operations

  • Maintain strong operational discipline, accountability and service standards across all teams

  • Oversee recruitment, training, rota planning and performance management
Guest \& Client Experience
  • Ensure consistently excellent guest experience across both restaurant and private hire operations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event organisers and high\-value guests

  • Handle feedback, complaints and service recovery with professionalism and urgency
Commercial \& Operational Performance
  • Monitor and manage daily sales performance, labour costs and event profitability

  • Support budgeting, forecasting and revenue optimisation strategies

  • Actively drive growth in private hire and event bookings

  • Identify and implement opportunities to maximise venue utilisation across all trading periods
Compliance \& Standards
  • Ensure full compliance with all licensing, health \& safety and food safety regulations

  • Maintain robust operational processes and documentation for both restaurant and event delivery

  • Ensure all events are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard
Essential Experience
  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, General Manager or Venue Manager in a high\-volume, high\-end hospitality environment

  • Extensive experience in private hire and large\-scale events operations is essential

  • Strong leadership experience managing large teams in fast\-paced venues

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex events from planning through to execution

  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience with revenue, cost control or event profitability

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail under pressure

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and event\-driven schedules
Desirable
  • Experience in large\-scale multi\-purpose venues (restaurant \+ events space)

  • Strong corporate events or high\-capacity function experience

  • Familiarity with hospitality systems (EPOS, booking, CRM, event management tools)

  • Personal Licence (UK)
