Residential Children's Support Worker\- Solo placement.

Hours: 7:00am – 11:00pm \+ Sleep In
Salary: From £28,000 per annum
Overtime: Optional\- Days, Weekends and Waking Nights

Kelwel Care is looking for a passionate and dedicated Residential Children Support Worker to join our established children's home in Letchworth Garden City.

Our Ofsted Outstanding\-rated children's home and is built on the same values of providing exceptional therapeutic care, stability, and positive outcomes for children and young people.

Role Overview:

You and the team will be working in a solo placement with a young person up to 18 years old. You will play a vital role in supporting and helping them to build confidence, life skills, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Build positive relationships with young people to support their emotional and social development.


• Support daily routines, including meals, education, and activities.


• Create a safe, nurturing environment where young people feel secure and valued.


• Manage challenging behaviour using de\-escalation and positive behaviour strategies.


• Maintain accurate records including logs, reports, and incident forms.


• Participate in household tasks like cooking and cleaning when applicable.


• Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep\-ins.

• Experience in care or support roles with young people.


• Understanding of trauma\-informed care and behaviour support.


• Education: Qualifications in youth work, social care, or a related field (NVQ Level 3 preferred)


• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate young people.


• Attributes: Energetic, patient, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting youth development.


• Requirements: A full UK driving licence and a clear Enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete one.
