Clinical Fellow (ST Equivalent) in Medicine for the Elderly

Full Time / Part Time Hours Considered

NHS Tayside seeks to appoint a Clinical Fellow (ST Equivalent) in Medicine for the Elderly.

Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow post to join the Medicine for the Elderly Teams in Perth and Kinross working in Perth Royal Infirmary, Crieff Community Hospital and Blairgowrie Community Hospital.

The Medicine for the Elderly service delivered by the Perth and Kinross health and social care partnership is undergoing a period of change and innovation. At present the Medicine for the Elderly unit provides a comprehensive service to older in\-patients in Perth Royal Infirmary including an acute frailty team and frailty unit, acute MFE wards, orthogeriatric service and an 18 bedded rehab and assessment unit. Inpatient assessment and rehabilitation is also delivered at the community hospitals in Crieff, Blairgowrie and Pitlochry. There are clinics specialising in falls, movement disorder and bone health.

Medicine for the Elderly is Tayside’s largest employer of Clinical Fellows and Speciality Doctors, and our team have a reputation for providing opportunities and career development in this career grade. It is also the stepping stone to Speciality Doctor post for doctors without enough experience to apply for a Speciality Doctor post.

The post is ideal for doctors looking for time away from training or a non\-training career, where development, training and opportunities provided by these posts have many positives. The candidate can work fulltime or part time.

Closing date to confirm however, we are looking to offer this post at the earliest opportunity and would therefore encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. Interviews will be held as when candidates apply.

The post holder must (at the time of commencement of employment) have full registration with the GMC and a license to practice. Successful completion of the UK foundation programme or equivalent as demonstrated by the UK CREST form is required by the time of appointment.

Applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full time.

Informal enquiries can be made to: Dr Louise Beveridge, louise.beveridge3@nhs.scot

Please note this post may close early due to a high number of applications. Can you please apply as soon as possible in order to have your application in.

We are a Skilled Worker visa sponsorship employer and as such, welcome applications from international candidates. Further information can be found at https://www.gov.uk/skilled\-worker\-visa
