We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Project Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the University’s Imaging Facilities, located across Greater Manchester, which provide researchers access to clinical and preclinical imaging modalities across a range of disease areas, from neuroscience to musculoskeletal, cardiovascular to cancer.

The role is pivotal to ensuring that studies and Clinical Trials using the Imaging Facilities are set up in line with regulatory requirements and defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

You will be responsible for:

  • Act as the main liaison point between the Imaging Facilities operational staff, PIs and other research collaborators regarding the internal review and set\-up of human research studies and Clinical Trials using our scanners

  • Provide specialist advice to researchers on regulatory requirements relating to scanning for clinical studies using the Imaging Facilities

  • Work closely with NHS Research \& Innovation Managers at our scanning locations regarding the requirements and processes for studies using the scanners located on Trust premises, developing, improving, and streamlining shared processes as required

  • Maintain adherence to, and develop and implement changes to, local policies and SOPs for the purpose of improving internal working practices and ensuring quality standards

  • Work with the SBOM on the project management of new scanner purchases and major upgrades as required, and lead on smaller sub\-projects as needed

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of working in a University and/or NHS Trust research environment

  • Experience of University and/or NHS Trust processes for setting up and conducting clinical research studies

  • Significant project management experience

  • Current Good Clinical Practice certification

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience of working within a quality management system

  • Experience of working in a customer\-focused environment and delivering exceptional customer service

  • Ability to work collaboratively and across organisational boundaries

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to present information clearly and explain complex issues to a range of audiences

  • Sound analytical, creative and pragmatic problem\-solving skills
