Research Fellow in Global Musculoskeletal Ageing
The role

To provide expertise in musculoskeletal imaging (e.g., pQCT, DXA, BIA) and research to the clinical research teams working in partner countries in Africa in collaboration with the Global Health and Ageing Research Unit (GHARU) at the University of Bristol
What will you be doing?
---------------------------
- Provide leadership within a multidisciplinary, international team to deliver robust musculoskeletal research in line with the aims of the Global Health and Ageing Research programme
- Lead in\-country teams in use of pQCT, DXA, BIA. Provide technical expertise and lead processing and analysis of these specific data types.
- Lead statistical data analysis and write\-up to publish articles in high quality peer reviewed journals, working in collaboration with international colleagues

- You are an expert in musculoskeletal imaging for research purposes, including pQCT and DXA; being able to train others to use these techniques, supervise data acquisition, processing and analysis, QC and trouble\-shoot, to a high level of expertise.
- Advanced skills in global health research, with a focus on Africa
- Advanced management of data and databases with knowledge, and experienced application of statistical biomedical methodologies
- Ability to manage competing demands and priorities, sometimes to tight deadlines
- Ability to raise independent funding
- Ability to lead writing of scientific manuscripts for publication, with evidence of excellent writing skills, showing clarity of expression and attention to detail
- Be self\-motivated, proactive, innovative, and able to use initiative where appropriate

Salary: £50,253 \- £58,225 per annum

Shift pattern: 35 hours per week
