Research Assistant in Advanced imaging of neuronal proteins
Do you want to contribute to improving human health?
--------------------------------------------------------
The research group led by Michael Ratz at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology is looking for a research assistant in collaboration with the Advanced Bio\-imaging laboratories led by Ilaria Testa. The labs are located on KI's Solna campus in Biomedicum and in SciLifeLab, two new interdisciplinary research centers with advanced laboratories and modern facilities. The two labs creates new molecular and imaging tools to understand the function of neural cells in the mammalian brain in health and disease.

Your role
You will contribute to a project involving the use of novel biophysical methods to study neuronal protein interaction in the mammalian brain. We will use a novel fluorescence based technology to probe neuronal proteins dynamics in situ. The long\-term goal is to provide standardized tools to record volumetric dynamic imaging data at scale.
You will have the opportunity to become familiar with a wide range of cutting\-edge methods including fluorescence imaging and spectroscopy at different scales, high\-resolution and confocal microscopy as well as imaging data analysis.
Your profile
We are recruiting an enthusiastic research assistant with a master's degree to support the use of fluorescence microscopy.
Qualifications
The applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Education in experimental life sciences with a qualifying degree, e.g. in
- Experience in fluorescence microscopy (polarization microscopy, super resolution imaging)
- Experience in immunostaining and fluorescence imaging
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Collaborative and curiosity\-driven approach to basic scientific research
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Experience in computational imaging data analysis (e.g. R or Python)
