Rotherham Council is currently recruiting Relief School Crossing Patrollers to support our service across the Rotherham borough.
Make a real difference in your local community by supporting the safety of children. You will be on the front line, helping young students navigate busy roads, ensuring they arrive at school safely and can return home without worry. About the Role
As a Relief School Crossing Patroller, you will:
- Provide cover for planned and unplanned absences at crossing sites across Rotherham.
- Ensure the safe crossing of children and other pedestrian.
- Work during school term times, typically mornings and afternoons
- Travel to different locations within the borough where required
- Applicants must be flexible and able to work at short notice to provide cover for absent patrol officers.
- A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety
- Good communication and awareness of road safety
- Reliability and flexibility to work across various sites
- A friendly, approachable and community\-minded attitude
- A full driving licence is preferred but not essential, as duties may be carried out at crossing points within your local area.
- Previous experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. We are looking for individuals who are responsible, approachable, and committed to ensuring the safety of children at busy road crossings.
