Haylie House is a 23 bedded Residential Home providing excellent standards of care and support; through promoting independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care.

This is an ideal opportunity to join our team here at Haylie House in Largs, a vibrant residential care home with an excellent reputation for the quality of care we provide for our residents.

We are looking to recruit a Relief Carer to join our team.

· £13\.56 per hour

· Flexible hours days/nights \- availability over 7 days

Essential Experience / Criteria

A Relief Carer will be:

• A motivated and caring individual.


• Able to maintain accurate written records of residents’ daily activities.


• Able to communicate effectively with other members of the staff team, residents and their relatives


• Working towards an SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care


• Have a legal right to work in the UK

Experience supporting older people, including those living with dementia, is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote a homely, therapeutic environment, which encourages independence and meets the needs of each individual.


• Safeguard the residents at all times.


• Assist and support residents with all identified care need in line with the Health \& Social Care Standards.


• Be a Key Worker for selected residents through being involved with care plan reviews with Senior Staff and family members.


• Promote mental and physical wellbeing of residents through engaging and interactive activities.
