The Role
The Relationship Manager (RM) will drive business growth, while building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with SME customers and key industry stakeholders. This role requires delivering exceptional customer experience and achieving agreed sales targets through a proactive sales approach. The role holder will work closely with the Operations Manager and administrative team to ensure seamless deal execution and a high standard of customer service.
This is a field-based role with an expectation for regular travel to meet with customers, attend industry events, and support business development activities as required. Excellent self-management, strategic planning and a disciplined approach to customer engagement are essential. The RM will develop and execute a personal contact strategy to maximise opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Sales
- Proactively identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to foster repeat business.
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle including ensuring timely and precise service delivery and providing customers with the relevant information to close the deal.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and credible finance partner by staying informed of relevant products, market trends, customer needs and competitive landscape.
- Act as a liaison between the company and its existing and prospective markets, negotiating terms of an agreement and closing sales while gathering valuable market and customer insights.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of customer interactions, ensuring all compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Risk function to ensure the consistent alignment of objectives, adhering fully to the principles of the Enterprise Risk Management framework.
- Prepare comprehensive and well-structured credit applications to support informed lending decisions for customers.
- Ensure full compliance with all governance, regulatory and internal requirements, including the accurate and timely completion of all reporting and review activities mandated by regulatory bodies.
- Work collaboratively with the Risk function to ensure the consistent alignment of objectives, adhering fully to the principles of the Enterprise Risk Management
- Consistently operate within the framework of the FCA regulations, ensuring that the principles of Treating Customers Fairly are fully embedded in all customer interactions and business practices.
