Relationship Director
We are working with a leading lending business that is looking to appoint an experienced Relationship Director to develop and manage a high-value portfolio with a particular focus on Real Estate and Hospitality.
This is an opportunity for a commercially driven relationship banker who has an established network and a proven ability to originate, structure and execute significant lending transactions.
The Opportunity The successful candidate will have a strong network of clients, introducers and professional contacts across the Midlands, with the ability to transact at £20m+, and ideally a track record of exposure to transactions in the £50m–£65m+ range.
You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing relationships and taking transactions through the complete lending lifecycle — from initial origination through to credit approval, underwriting and execution.
Key Responsibilities • Originate and develop new lending opportunities across the Midlands
- Build and maintain senior relationships across Real Estate and Hospitality
- Leverage an established network to identify and win new business
- Identify opportunities for £20m+ lending transactions
- Understand and shape complex transactions alongside clients and professional advisers
- Work closely with Credit to structure transactions and develop appropriate lending proposals
- Prepare and write high-quality credit applications
- Lead transactions through credit, underwriting, approval and execution
- Manage the deal from initial opportunity through to drawdown
- Develop long-term relationships and identify opportunities for further lending
- Maintain strong commercial discipline around risk, returns and portfolio quality
- Work collaboratively with internal credit, underwriting, legal and execution teams
- A strong track record in commercial or specialist lending
- An established Midlands network
- Existing relationships within Real Estate and/or Hospitality
- Demonstrable experience originating and executing £20m+ transactions
- The credibility and network to transact at £50m–£65m+ levels
- Strong understanding of credit, underwriting and lending structures
- Experience writing and presenting credit proposals
- The ability to find the deal, shape the deal and get it executed
- A highly commercial and entrepreneurial approach to relationship management
