Our client is a global chemicals business with a strong presence across Europe, specialising in innovative solutions within the public health and specialty chemicals sectors. Acting as a key regulatory and technical hub in the region, the organisation supports product development, compliance, and distribution activities across international markets.

About the role

Regulatory Specialist is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance for biocidal products across the UK, EU, and wider EMEA region. Reporting to the Regulatory Affairs Manager, the role focuses on coordinating the preparation, submission, and maintenance of regulatory dossiers in line with BPR, REACH, and CLP requirements. The position involves close collaboration with internal teams, external consultants, and regulatory authorities, as well as monitoring evolving legislation and ensuring ongoing compliance. The individual will also provide regulatory guidance across the business, contribute to Responsible Care activities, and manage registration tracking and reporting, ensuring high standards of accuracy, organisation, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage preparation, submission, and maintenance of biocidal product dossiers, liaising with regulatory authorities, internal teams, and external consultants.

  • Monitor and support compliance with EU/UK regulations (BPR, REACH, CLP, GB frameworks, and transport regulations).

  • Coordinate Responsible Care activities, ensuring effective issue escalation, resolution, and representation in global forums.

  • Track REACH registrations and annual tonnages (EU, UK, Turkey) and prepare reports.

  • Provide regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders and customers.

Technical Skills
  • Strong experience with EU chemical regulations (BPR, REACH) and tools such as IUCLID and R4BP3.

  • Proven project management skills in regulatory or technical environments.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work independently and within multicultural teams.

Education & Experience
  • Degree in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or related field.

  • 4–5 years’ experience in biocidal regulatory affairs within the UK/EU.
