The role

Successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist as part of a multidisciplinary team, in the General Adult setting in Highfield Healthcare. Services are incorporating inpatient, day hospital, home base treatment and outpatients’ care.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must:

• MB, Bch essential


• General Registration with Irish Medical Council essential


• X2 written satisfactory references – essential


• BLS \- desirable


• Relevant experience in a mental health setting\- desirable


• Adaptability to changes in healthcare


• Ability to work well within team environment


• Excellent organisation and time management skills


• Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development

• To promote patient care by liaising with all departments


• Ensure appropriate and timely communication as required with Admissions Staff, Ward Manager and staff, and consultant in charge of patient


• To participate in any in\-service training as required such as CPR, Health and Safety, fire training etc.


• To provide in\-service training to staff where requested and appropriate.


• Ensure on\-going continuous professional development by reading current medical and psychiatric journals and on\-going professional training.


• Empathising with patients, their family and friends and adopt a customer\-focused approach at all times.
