Registered Manager – Supported Accommodation (Ofsted Registered)
Organisation: Pearl Connexions (GnK Cares Acquisition)
Location: London and Surrey
Salary: £17\.50 per hour \+ Management Fee
Contract Type: Full\-Time, Self employed
Responsible To: Responsible Individual / Director
Job Purpose
To be the Ofsted Registered Manager for the supported accommodation service, ensuring the provision is fully compliant with Ofsted Supported Accommodation Regulations and Quality Standards. The Registered Manager will lead on safeguarding, operational delivery, staff leadership, and achieving positive outcomes for young people aged 16–18 transitioning towards independence.
Key Responsibilities
*Leadership \& Management*
\- Provide effective leadership and management of the service
\- Develop and maintain a positive, child\-centred culture
\- Lead, supervise, and appraise staff in line with safer recruitment and HR processes
\- Ensure staff receive regular supervision, training, and development
*Regulatory Compliance*
\- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted Supported Accommodation Regulations
\- Maintain registration requirements with Ofsted at all times
\- Lead on preparation for Ofsted inspections and audits
\- Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and regularly reviewed
*Safeguarding \& Risk Management*
\- Promote and embed a strong safeguarding culture across the service
\- Ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed in line with statutory guidance
\- Oversee risk assessments and behaviour support plans
\- Work in partnership with safeguarding agencies
*Care \& Support Delivery*
\- Ensure high\-quality support plans are developed and implemented
\- Promote independence, life skills, and positive outcomes for young people
\- Monitor and review placement plans and progress
\- Ensure young people’s voices are central to service delivery
*Multi\-Agency Working*
\- Work collaboratively with Social Work Teams (SWT), Local Authorities, and external professionals
\- Attend and contribute to care planning meetings and reviews
\- Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders
*Quality Assurance \& Performance*
\- Monitor KPIs, audits, and service performance
\- Implement continuous improvement strategies
\- Maintain accurate records and reporting systems
*Operational Management*
\- Oversee budgets and resource allocation
\- Ensure the service is safe, well\-maintained, and fit for purpose
\- Manage staffing rotas and service coverage
PERSON SPECIFICATION
*Essential Qualifications*
\- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within required timeframe)
*Essential Experience*
\- Experience working within supported accommodation or children’s services
\- Previous management or supervisory experience
\- Experience working with young people with complex needs
\- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
*Knowledge \& Skills*
\- In\-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Supported Accommodation Standards
\- Strong leadership and team management skills
\- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
\- Ability to manage risk and make sound decisions under pressure
\- Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable
\- Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager or Deputy Manager
\- Experience of Ofsted inspections
\- Knowledge of trauma\-informed practice
