The Role

Registered Nurse responsible for the application of the Framework of the Nursing Process to deliver high standards of client / patient nursing care for patients with a range of mental disorders, substance misuse, learning disability or co\-morbidity, under the clinical supervision of the caseload holder / charge nurse / team leader, senior charge nurse or practitioner. The registered nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal and clinical supervision of students and clinical / healthcare support workers in provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner

Additional for those with 2 years post registration

Acting as Named Nurse (or equivalent), responsible for the application of the framework of the Nursing Process to ensure a high standard of client / patient care, delegated by the charge nurse / team leader, senior charge nurse or practitioner who provides clinical supervision to the post holder and retains overall responsibility for patient care. Co\-ordinating and supervising a small team of junior nurses or practitioners, students and clinical support workers in delivering care. Where required the post holder will undertake a delegated range of duties of the charge nurse, team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner in their absence, including taking charge of the clinical area.

The working pattern for this role is Monday \- Thursday (9:00am \- 5:00pm) \& Friday (9:00am \- 4:30pm)

In this key role, you will:

  • Implement the framework of the nursing process to participate in person centred assessment and participate in the development and implementation of client / patient care plan in accordance with operational policies for the defined clinical area, and under the clinical supervision of the named nurse (or equivalent), senior nursing staff and / or multidisciplinary team.

  • Provide information in a range of formats regarding pharmacological treatments, and their benefits, undesired effects and contraindications to support clients / patients’ choice regarding treatment within post holder knowledge, skills and competencies.

  • Establish and maintain effective communications and liaison with other professionals, carers, families and relevant others involved in the client’s / patient’s care or social circumstances

  • Participate in clinical networking with other services
What You'll Bring:
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration

  • The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative

  • Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
