Healthcare4Kids is a specialist multidisciplinary healthcare service providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support to children, young people and adults.
Our multidisciplinary team includes consultant paediatricians, consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and administrative professionals.
Our services include the assessment and management of neurodevelopmental and mental\-health conditions, including autism, ADHD and anxiety, alongside associated clinical and developmental needs.
We work with children, young people, adults and their families, providing safe, evidence\-based and person\-centred care that is responsive to individual clinical, developmental, communication and support needs.
Healthcare4Kids is an established CQC\-registered provider.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Registered Manager to lead the operational, regulatory and governance management of Healthcare4Kids.
The Registered Manager will have overall responsibility for ensuring that services provided to children, young people and adults are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well\-led, while maintaining compliance with CQC requirements and applicable legislation.
Working closely with the Nominated Individual, Directors and senior clinical team, including consultant paediatricians, consultant psychiatrists, psychologists and nurses, the Registered Manager will provide strong operational leadership and ensure that effective governance systems support the delivery of safe, high\-quality care across the service.
The role will require an understanding of the different needs and safeguards applicable to children, young people and adults, including appropriate approaches to consent, communication, capacity, safeguarding, confidentiality and person\-centred care.
The Registered Manager will also develop effective relationships with external stakeholders, including commissioners, regulatory bodies, safeguarding partners, healthcare professionals, schools, local authorities and other relevant organisations.
The Registered Manager will oversee the governance of Healthcare4Kids' external communications and social media presence, ensuring that public\-facing communications are professional, accurate, appropriate and consistent with confidentiality, safeguarding, information governance and the reputation of the organisation.
This is a senior leadership position requiring an individual who can combine strong healthcare management skills with excellent judgement, organisation and communication.
The successful candidate will be confident working in a multidisciplinary clinical environment and comfortable providing appropriate challenge and support to senior clinicians.
Key Responsibilities1\. CQC and Regulatory Compliance
- Act as the Registered Manager for the relevant CQC regulated activity.
- Maintain compliance with CQC requirements and applicable legislation across services provided to children, young people and adults.
- Ensure the service remains inspection\-ready.
- Maintain appropriate evidence of compliance and effective governance records.
- Lead responses to CQC enquiries, assessments and inspections.
- Ensure required CQC notifications are made appropriately.
- Maintain and monitor regulatory action plans.
- Ensure policies and procedures are implemented effectively across the service.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure the requirements of CQC Regulation 7 are met, including maintaining the qualifications, competence, skills and experience necessary to manage the regulated activity.
Working in partnership with the Clinical/Medical Director and senior clinical team, the Registered Manager will:
- Maintain effective clinical governance systems across services for children, young people and adults.
- Ensure appropriate clinical risk\-management arrangements.
- Oversee incident reporting, investigation and learning.
- Ensure significant events are appropriately reviewed.
- Monitor clinical audit programmes and governance actions.
- Ensure appropriate clinical supervision and appraisal arrangements.
- Support effective multidisciplinary working.
- Ensure clinicians work within their competence and professional scope.
- Monitor professional registration and mandatory requirements.
- Ensure learning from incidents, complaints and audits is implemented and evidenced.
3\. Safeguarding
Safeguarding is a fundamental responsibility of this role, with particular responsibility for ensuring robust arrangements for children and young people, while also ensuring appropriate safeguarding systems are in place for adults who may be vulnerable or at risk.
The Registered Manager will:
- Maintain robust safeguarding systems and procedures for children, young people and adults.
- Ensure staff receive appropriate safeguarding training relevant to the people they support.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are appropriately documented, escalated and acted upon.
- Liaise with external safeguarding agencies where required.
- Ensure safer recruitment procedures are followed.
- Monitor DBS and other relevant checks.
- Ensure staff understand professional boundaries and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Ensure safeguarding audits are undertaken.
- Promote a culture in which safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and escalated appropriately.
Oversee effective systems for all patients, including children, young people and adults, covering:
- Clinical risk.
- Incidents and significant events.
- Complaints and concerns.
- Safeguarding.
- Medication\-related risks.
- Infection prevention and control.
- Health and safety.
- Emergency procedures.
- Information governance and confidentiality.
- Business continuity.
5\. Patient and Family Experience
Ensure that all patients and their families, parents or carers receive care that is:
- Person\-centred.
- Respectful and dignified.
- Accessible.
- Responsive.
- Inclusive.
- Appropriate to age, developmental stage and individual needs.
- Neurodevelopmentally appropriate where relevant.
- Sensitive to individual communication needs.
- Respectful of individual choice, autonomy and rights.
Feedback, concerns and complaints will be taken seriously and used to improve the service.
6\. External Stakeholder and Partnership Management
Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with relevant external stakeholders, which may include:
- CQC and other regulatory bodies.
- Local authorities and safeguarding partners.
- NHS organisations and commissioners.
- GPs and other referring healthcare professionals.
- Schools, colleges and education professionals.
- Social care and community services.
- Professional and clinical networks.
- Parents, carers and representative organisations.
- Other partner organisations relevant to the delivery of safe and effective care.
7\. Communications and Social Media Governance
The Registered Manager will oversee the governance of Healthcare4Kids' external communications and social media presence, working with relevant staff or external communications support where appropriate.
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring social media and public communications appropriately represent services provided to children, young people and adults.
- Ensuring communications are professional, accurate and consistent with the values of Healthcare4Kids.
- Ensuring communications comply with confidentiality, safeguarding, information governance, data protection and professional requirements.
- Ensuring patient, child, young person and family information is never disclosed inappropriately.
- Maintaining appropriate approval and oversight arrangements for public\-facing content.
- Monitoring the organisation's online reputation and responding appropriately to concerns or complaints raised through public channels.
- Ensuring social media activity does not compromise professional boundaries or patient confidentiality.
- Escalating significant reputational, safeguarding or clinical concerns appropriately.
- Supporting appropriate communication of Healthcare4Kids' services, values and achievements.
Establish and maintain effective quality\-assurance arrangements across the service, including:
- Safeguarding.
- Incidents and significant events.
- Complaints and patient feedback.
- Waiting times and access to services.
- Clinical records.
- Medication governance.
