Registered Home Manager — 43\-bed Nursing Home \| Up to £70,000 \+ Performance Bonus

We'll be straight with you from the outset, because that's how we work.

This is a 43\-bed nursing home rated Good by CQC — a genuinely solid service with a stable team and systems already in place. We're not looking for someone to keep it ticking over. We're looking for a manager who wants to take something good and make it demonstrably better: sharpening governance, embedding quality systems, and building a culture that holds standards without you having to chase them.

If that's the kind of leadership that energises you, you'll fit here. And you won't be doing it alone.

The support around you

*A Regional Manager who has actually done the job.* You'll report to a Regional Manager with extensive hands\-on home management experience and clinically sound knowledge from both high\-acuity and nursing home settings. Raise a clinical governance issue, a staffing problem or a tricky regulatory question and you're talking to someone who understands it from the inside — and who rolls their sleeves up alongside you rather than just asking for a report.

*A peer network of Home Managers across the patch.* Our managers genuinely support each other — sharing tools, benchmarking practice, problem\-solving together and picking up the phone when someone needs a second opinion. You'll join an established group of experienced managers, not sit in isolation.

*An experienced central team.* Group\-level support on compliance, medication governance, policy, HR and quality auditing — with well\-developed audit tools, digital care planning (PCS) and eMAR already in place. This is a largely paperless, systems\-led environment.

The role

You'll hold overall responsibility for the culture, quality, compliance and performance of the home, with significant autonomy and clear accountability. Your priorities:

  • Leadership \& culture — visible, consistent leadership; a professional, high\-performing team; performance issues handled constructively and fairly.

  • Quality \& compliance — full CQC compliance, inspection readiness, and improvement plans driven through to completion; safeguarding, clinical governance and risk systems that genuinely work.

  • Governance \& auditing — own the quality assurance cycle; audits completed accurately and actions followed through; data and feedback used to drive improvement.

  • Resident experience — residents who feel safe, supported and at home; strong person\-centred care planning; concerns and complaints handled openly.

  • Operational management — staffing, rotas, recruitment, retention and agency control; effective training, supervision and appraisal.

  • Financial \& commercial — budget management, occupancy, and strong commissioner relationships.

  • External relationships — representing the home professionally with families, professionals, commissioners and the community.
Who we're looking for

*Essential*

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Care Home Manager

  • Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Health \& Social Care (or equivalent)

  • Track record of achieving and maintaining Good or Outstanding CQC outcomes

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and safeguarding

  • Experience managing medium\-sized nursing homes

  • Confidence managing performance and having difficult conversations

  • High IT literacy — comfortable with digital care planning, auditing, rota and compliance systems in a paperless environment

  • Commercial awareness and budget management experience

  • Full UK driving licence
*Desirable*
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN

  • Experience leading service improvement or turnaround
What we offer
  • Salary up to £70,000

  • Performance bonus, linked to occupancy and CQC quality

  • Company pension

  • Paid breaks

  • Free on\-site parking

  • Ongoing professional development

  • A Regional Manager and peer network who will genuinely back you

  • Clear progression within a stable, growing group
Why this role, why now

Plenty of Good\-rated homes advertise for someone to "keep things ticking over." This isn't that. We want someone who'll put their stamp on a service — who walks into their next inspection confident, evidenced and proud of what they've built — and who values working somewhere that combines real autonomy with real support.

If that sounds like you, we'd like to talk.
