Recruitment Consultant - Engineering & Construction

Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join an in-house recruitment team, specialising across the engineering and construction sectors.

You will take ownership of the full recruitment lifecycle, working closely with hiring managers to understand their requirements, develop effective recruitment strategies and deliver high-quality candidates across both blue-collar and white-collar positions.

This is an opportunity for an experienced recruiter who wants to work in a collaborative, commercially focused environment where you have genuine ownership of your market and the ability to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from vacancy briefing through to offer and placement.

  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers and internal stakeholders.

  • Take detailed recruitment briefs and develop effective sourcing strategies.

  • Proactively identify and approach high-quality candidates across engineering and construction.

  • Source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, databases, referrals, networking and direct approaches.

  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines across both blue- and white-collar markets.

  • Engage with passive candidates and build long-term relationships within your specialist market.

  • Conduct detailed candidate interviews and assess suitability against role requirements.

  • Manage the interview and offer process, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout.

  • Provide market insight to hiring managers, including salary levels, candidate availability and market trends.

  • Work closely with the Recruitment Resourcer to maximise candidate generation and delivery.

  • Maintain accurate candidate and vacancy records within the recruitment CRM.

  • Monitor recruitment activity, pipeline performance and time-to-hire.

  • Develop long-term talent pools to support current and future hiring requirements.

Engineering & Construction Markets

The role will cover a broad range of engineering and construction recruitment, giving you exposure to both professional and site-based positions.

Essential experience

We are looking for an experienced recruiter who is commercially aware, proactive and driven to deliver results.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven recruitment consultancy or in-house recruitment experience.

  • Experience recruiting within engineering, construction, infrastructure or a related technical market.

  • Strong understanding of candidate sourcing and talent mapping.

  • Confidence dealing with hiring managers and senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

  • A proactive approach to candidate generation rather than relying solely on applications.

  • Experience managing multiple vacancies and competing priorities.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering against recruitment objectives.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.

  • A genuine interest in developing long-term relationships with both candidates and stakeholders.
