Whether you are a graduate looking for the right opportunity to start your career, or already have a couple of years’ experience in estimating, quotations or construction, this could be a really interesting next step.
We are recruiting a Quotations Manager for an established and growing specialist services business in Salisbury.
This is a brand new position, so there is plenty of opportunity to learn, develop and make the role your own.
What will you actually be doing? At its heart, this role is about understanding what a client needs and turning that into an accurate, commercially sound quotation.
You will speak with clients, understand their requirements, price the work, look at costs and margins, prepare quotations and then manage the process through to approval and handover.
You will spend plenty of time working with spreadsheets, pricing and commercial information, so you will need to be comfortable with both numbers and technology.
You will also get out to client sites when needed, with a company pool car available for site visits.
Who could this suit? There are two routes into this opportunity.
You might already have 2 to 3 years’ experience and be working as an Estimator, Junior Estimator, Quotations Coordinator, Assistant Quotations Manager, Commercial Assistant or in a similar position.
Experience within construction, building services or another project or service based environment could transfer particularly well.
Or, you might be a bright graduate who is good with numbers, confident using Excel and spreadsheets, commercially minded and looking for a business where you can learn quickly and build a career.
You do not need to know everything from day one.
What is more important is that you are bright, organised, computer literate, comfortable with numbers and confident communicating with people. You will need to be able to listen to what a client wants, understand the detail and turn that information into a clear and accurate quote.
