Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the West Midlands. This role is pivotal in managing project costs and ensuring financial efficiency aligned with our commitment to excellence and transparency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage project budgets from inception to completion.
- Conduct cost analysis and control to optimise project expenditure.
- Prepare and review contractual documents and procurement strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure financial targets are met.
- Monitor project progress and adjust cost forecasts accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
- Provide detailed reports on cost status and forecasts.
- Support the team in achieving high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Manage and submit change orders promptly as project scope evolves.
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations, following up to ensure timely certification and payment
- Develop cashflow forecasts and monitor project financial status continuously
- Identify risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Prepare and submit Early Warning Notices
- Manage contract compliance, issue resolution, and communication with clients and stakeholders
- Maintain up\-to\-date knowledge of contract conditions, commercial best practices, and relevant legislation
- Support final account preparation and project close\-out documentation
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role within the secure infrastructure or construction industry.
- Strong expertise in cost control and financial management.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast\-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ commercial experience in construction settings, ideally within secure projects
- Strong commercial awareness with a proven track record in cost control, valuations, and change management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and project teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Highly organised, self\-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Familiarity with contract law and construction procurement processes
