Mpeople Recruitment are seeking an experienced Quality Manager on behalf of our reputable manufacturing client based in Wigan.
- Location: Wigan
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Permanent Monday to Friday usual hours are 8.30am to 5pm
- Salary: up to £60,000 dependent on experience
- EAP in place once passed probationary period.
- Pension - is minimum of 2% contribution from the employee, and the company contributes 6% - making a total pension contribution of 8% per annum, once passed probationary period.

Duties:
- Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality-related issues.
- Monitor and analyse quality performance data.
- Lead and train quality control teams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Handle customer complaints and provide solutions to quality issues.
- Maintain detailed records of quality control operations.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and update quality control documentation regularly.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality of raw materials.
- Oversee product testing and validation procedures.
- Prepare and present quality reports to upper management.
- Develop continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance throughout the production process.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, MBA, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Certification from professional bodies like Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality control software.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements in the industry.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality control or quality assurance.
- In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and legal standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality control applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Proven experience in managing quality assurance projects.
- Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis.
- Understanding of production processes and quality criteria.
