Quality Manager

Quality Manager / Lead Inspector Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
Type: Permanent, Full-time

A well-established precision engineering business is looking for an experienced Quality Manager / Lead Inspector to take ownership of its quality function, supporting customers across the Aerospace, Defence and Nuclear sectors.

This is a hands-on leadership role, managing the Quality function while remaining involved in inspection, metrology and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities • Lead and develop the Quality team

• Maintain and improve AS9100 / ISO9001 systems


• Manage internal, customer and supplier audits


• Handle NCRs, concessions, 8D reports and root cause investigations


• Carry out dimensional inspection and CMM programming


• Lead FAI activities and maintain quality documentation


• Manage calibration and supplier quality


• Drive continuous improvement and promote a strong quality culture

Requirements • Previous Quality experience within precision engineering/manufacturing

• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001


• Experience within Aerospace, Defence or Nuclear desirable


• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances


• Strong metrology/CMM experience


• Experience with NCRs, 8D and root cause analysis


• Previous leadership or team-leading experience

Desirable: AS9102 knowledge, machining/welding experience, ERP/MRP experience and internal auditor training.
