Overview of the role

We are seeking a proactive and detail\-oriented Quality Coordinator to join our growing animal feed supplement manufacturing business, operating across two sites in Cork. This role will support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with feed safety, regulatory, and customer requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with production, operations, and technical teams to uphold high standards of product quality, traceability, hygiene, and documentation across both facilities. Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

General house keeping

  • Maintain work areas in a safe, clean and hygiene manner to include cleaning of cupboards, shelving and work station, (Laboratory and office station)
Feed Safety
  • Report anything unhygienic or dangerous to feed \& possible subsequent food safety to your Manager or in their absence another Senior Manager.
Pest Control
  • Report any evidence of actual or suspected infestation to your manager
Documentation:
  • Complete laboratory and process checks in real time.

  • Maintain up to date filing of Quality and Production process records.
Sampling, Inspection and Testing
  • Collection, Inspection and logging of all samples from incoming raw materials and outgoing finished product and test product where necessary or as per the laboratory plan.

  • Analytical Testing of finished products and raw materials as per lab plan using various equipment and recording and reporting results

  • Issuance of certificates of analysis and conformance as per customer requirements

  • Consistently achieve test result accuracy and develop efficient testing plans.

  • Manage any testing through external laboratories and recording of results internally including any regulatory requirements for testing.

  • Ensure all lab equipment maintained and calibrated as required
Quality Management System

Support the Quality Management system by

  • Supporting all QMS and Company policies, lead by example to support a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.

  • On line QC inspection, raising non\-conformances and working through with cross\-functional teams to achieve closure.

  • Maintain a robust QMS in the laboratory and manage all maintenance and calibration requirements for laboratory equipment.

  • Co\-ordination of customer complaints, including logging, communicating, report response from point of receipt to closure.

  • Review, record and communicate internal non\-conformances

  • Internal Auditing as per schedule

  • Attendance at the daily board meetings as required

  • Participate and support business for external audits as required.

  • Follow SOPs, review and ensure they are up to date at all times
Provide cover for the Quality Assurance coordinator and Quality Technician.

Purchasing

  • Manage and seek approval from QM to procure laboratory supplies and consumables efficiently to avoid analysis disruption.
Training and Supervision
  • Provide training and supervision to new personnel working in the lab on good laboratory practice, testing procedures and use of the XRF.

  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be required by management from time to time, such as the collection and review of production records and recording /communication of anomalies.
Qualifications \& Education Requirements
  • BSc min in scientific background

  • Demonstrable work experience in a laboratory setting particularly with direct experience with elemental analysis under regulated environments

  • Person with the ability to work in an organized and focused fashion under pressure, a self\-starter who is supportive of colleagues and motivated to continuously improve systems.
