Pay Rate: £16.15 - £16.47 per hour PAYE or £19.95 per hour Umbrella
Working Hours: Full Time
Contract: Temporary (2 - 3 Months)

Berneslai Homes are looking for two experienced and qualified Plumbers to join its Building Works team on a temporary basis. Working within local authority properties across Barnsley, you will be part of a dedicated Joiner/Plumber team, carrying out a range of repairs, maintenance, installation, and adaptation works.

Day-to-day of the role
You'll be responsible for carrying out all aspects of plumbing work within council homes, schools, and public buildings, ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer service are maintained at all times.
Adaptations experience is desirable but not essential, and full support will be provided to help you integrate into the team.
- Carry out plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation work in domestic and public sector properties
- Install and maintain:
- Central heating systems
- Solid fuel boilers
- Sink units
- Baths and showers
- Water closets and wash basins
- Repair and replace external gutters, fall pipes, and soil stacks
- Renew and repair external water services and stopcocks
- Work collaboratively with other trades, tenants, caretakers, managers, and colleagues
- Complete all work to a professional standard, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Work safely at height using appropriate safety equipment
- Maintain van stock levels to support efficient service delivery
- Submit worksheets, job records, and documentation accurately and within required timescales
- Undertake driver and labouring duties when required
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and identify opportunities for service improvement
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Valid CSCS Card
- Basic DBS Certificate (current and valid)
- Experience working within domestic properties
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to organise and manage workload effectively
