Qualified Dental Nurse (for Foundation Dentist)
We are looking for an experienced Qualified Dental Nurse to join our expanding team. This role will be to work with and support a Foundation Dentist in their first year post qualification.
Our practice, based in the heart of York, is independently owned and provides family dental care as well as various cosmetic treatments.
If you are looking to progress, we offer fully funded training courses and the option of additional duties (e.g: first aider, fire marshal or information governance lead)
Working hours: 07\.45 \- 17\.30, 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) \= 35 hours per week with 1 hour lunch break per day.
Starting salary: up to £28,210 per annum (\~£15\.50 per hour) \- dependant on experience.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- To provide a reliable, efficient and timely service to ensure we exceed patient expectations at every visit and provide a first class customer experience
- To work as part of the whole dental team to assist in the provision and delivery of dental care services to patients.
- Ensure that all activities undertaken at the practice are in line with our policies and procedures.
- To provide clinical chairside support to the clinician and maintain stock levels of consumables within the surgery
- To ensure a high level of cross infection control and decontaminate dental instruments
- To maintain and update patient records
- To carry out administration duties and provide support to our patients via our call centre or reception on occasion
- Dental Nursing Qualification
- Registered with the GDC
- 3\-5 years dental nursing experience is preferable
- Be able to maintain a strong emphasis on the patient journey and level of service provided
- Have a willingness to learn and a motivated approach to continued professional development.
- Be able to remain calm and professional in a fast\-paced environment
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Be proactive and have a caring, positive mental attitude
- Experience with Dentally Software desirable (training will be provided)
- Have a good level of computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft office 365

- On\-going training, funded additional qualifications and career development (eg OHE, Radiography, Impression Taking and Fluoride application)

Pay: Up to £28,210\.00 per year
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
- Dental Nursing: 3 years (preferred)
- GDC registration (required)
