QRS Midwife
The Maternity \& Gynaecology Clinical Quality, Risk and Safety (QRS) Midwife, is a band 6 role which will support the Maternity and Gynaecology care units in all quality governance activities.
The successful candidate will receive comprehensive support and development opportunities from the established Quality, Risk and Safety team, including access to relevant training packages.
Join our dynamic Quality, Risk and Safety team within Chesterfield Maternity and Gynaecology, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting complaint and incident reviews, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Facilitate multidisciplinary reviews of incidents, working alongside passionate colleagues from across the Trust. You'll be actively involved in driving forward quality governance initiatives, making a tangible difference within our care units.
Take ownership of ensuring actions from incident and complaint investigations are completed. You'll conduct insightful trend analysis using intelligence from internal and external sources, and champion the spread of learning across maternity and the wider Trust.
Contribute directly to clinical excellence by coordinating guideline development and performing gap analysis against national standards. Your input will help us continually improve our practices and patient outcomes.

- Promote an environment where quality governance and risk management are integral to patient and staff wellbeing, encouraging a culture of participation, openness, honesty, and accountability.
- Lead the compilation of Governance reports, working closely with Divisional and Corporate resources to enhance quality monitoring, governance and assurance.
- Validate information contained in modules (Incidents, Complaints, Risk Management) on the InPhase Risk Management System, ensuring completeness, reliability and accuracy of data flows and reports.
- Prepare and present case reviews
- Respond to information requests from external organisations
- Communicate decisions and discussions from the Care Unit and Divisional Quality Governance Group, clarifying their relevance for individual areas and helping develop, monitor and review improvement plans to ensure effective change.
- Provide clinical support to the Care Unit during periods of escalation as required.
- Ensure adherence to the Trust’s incident reporting policy, Risk Policy and Complaints policy, overseeing robust processes for tracking actions and ensuring the duty of candour is upheld in accordance with regulation.
- Assist the Lead Midwife and Matron (Maternity and Gynaecology QRS) in the timely distribution, monitoring and submission of complaint responses, liaising with the Lead Investigator and Assistance and Complaints Service.
- Monitor patient feedback and engagement using various methodologies, ensuring that the patient voice informs service improvement and pathway changes.
