Purchasing/Supply Chain Manager

We have 83 group staff, across 4 locations globally across the UK, EU and US, with UK manufacturing operations in both Bristol and Liverpool.
*Role Overview:*
The ideal candidate will be a good cultural fit aligned to company values, (Customer Obsessed, Agile, Relentless) and have relevant experience in a Purchasing Manager role in a £20m\+ size private sector business. They should feel comfortable in developing then managing purchasing systems and processes to control manufacturing raw materials on a just in time basis, as well as stock products. The candidate needs a curious and relentless approach to diversifying risk across supply chain with new supplier on boarding and focus on price and lead time reduction. The purchasing manager will head up a new product development, where new product development opportunities will be brought for research, planning and execution to successfully bring the new product or process to fruition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Constantly be improving and managing current stock product purchasing process with purchasing assistant
- Constantly be improving and managing current manufacturing raw materials purchasing process utilizing a just in time approach to minimise stock holding
- Creating a process for and managing new product/process/machine ideas, researching, defining, executing by working with suppliers and internal production to bring to fruition.
- Managing supplier performance proactively, with scoring mechanisms, visits, and reporting on supplier OTIF on a individual supplier level
- Potential for developing into a wider Operational management responsibility over time
- Be developing new supplier relationships and detailing strengths and pricing from new suppliers to feed into sales team
- Supplier audit program and monthly scoring to drive improvement
- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges
- Self\-motivated with the ability to research and figure out solutions independently
- Team player who can collaborate effectively closely with sales process (Sales and Purchasing are closely linked in Ingenia)
- Attention to detail and pride in producing clean, well\-structured work
- Good communicator — able to ask clear questions and share ideas
- Ability to summarise information succinctly for management review in excel (Excel proficiency for data analysis and reporting)
