Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail\-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services to support operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong organisational skills and proficiency in ERP systems to optimise supply chain processes and minimise costs.
Duties
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Manage supplier selection, evaluation, and performance to ensure quality standards are met.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms with suppliers to secure the best value.
- Utilise ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to process purchase orders, track inventory levels, and monitor procurement activities.
- Coordinate logistics and transportation arrangements to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and plan procurement schedules accordingly.
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase transactions, supplier agreements, and inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, legal requirements, and health \& safety standards.
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within a similar industry.
- Strong proficiency in EPOS
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable terms.
- Sound understanding of logistics operations and supply chain processes.
- Ability to analyse data effectively to inform purchasing decisions.
- Organised with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Relevant qualifications in supply chain management or business administration are desirable but not essential. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to organisational efficiency through strategic procurement practices while working within a dynamic team environment.
