Accountabilities of our Purchasing Co\-Ordinator
The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail\-oriented Purchasing Co\-Ordinator to support end\-to\-end procurement activities across the business.
This role plays a key part in managing supplier relationships, supporting buyers across multiple categories, and helping to centralise purchasing processes. You’ll work closely with all departments to ensure compliance with policies and best practices, while also supporting stock control, materials planning, and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure systems and trackers are accurate and up to date, supporting effective procurement processes.
- Manage supplier relationships and engage with stakeholders across the business.
- Support tender processes, data analysis, and product range management.
- Present information to stakeholders and contribute to supplier meetings.
- Assist with New Product Development in line with Stage Gate processes.
- Maintain Supplier Service Level Agreements and associated databases (Excel and Sage).
- Manage selected suppliers and product platforms, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Order and expedite materials to ensure continuity of supply.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, reducing excess and obsolete stock.
- Maintain accurate materials planning data within Sage MRP.
- Track product lifecycle to minimise risk and liability.
- Monitor performance against KPIs including Supplier OTIF, stock accuracy, and customer service.
You’ll be a highly organised and analytical individual with a proactive mindset and strong attention to detail. You should have:
- A degree or equivalent, with proven experience in a buyer or procurement role.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, with excellent analytical capability.
- A tenacious approach to problem\-solving and the ability to manage time effectively.
- High attention to detail and a structured, fact\-based communication style.
- A professional and collaborative approach as part of a wider team.
- Experience using Sage X3 ERP systems.
- CIPS qualification or equivalent.
